I am a filmmaker from Greece, living in Berlin for the past eleven years.
I shoot both fiction and documentary films worldwide, and my work has received international awards and mentions.
Mostly interested in social themes and marginalized perspectives, I like to use the power of storytelling to challenge social norms and introduce new ideas and alternatives.
My stories are often inspired by radical social movements and underground urban culture, and I am attracted to unordinary characters that stand against the mainstream.
Since the pandemic breakout, I started experimenting with digital creative media, focusing on the production of short visual forms, that can communicate big messages to alternative audiences.
At the moment, I am in late production with my film ‘Lockdown#leave your myth in Greece, and I teach Film and storytelling in higher and advanced education.
'Dania' is the outcome of an audio-visual experiment, which took place in the canaries and Berlin.
We wanted to challenge the 'norms' of narrative storytelling and create a film that was made upside down: we first shot the images and then created the story.
Ι would call it a 'visual collage', which in a way broadened my perspectives on storytelling.
