Director Statement

Even with your eyes closed, you can hear the crash of the surf against the shoreline. You can smell it, feel the saltiness in the air as it settles with the warm orange rays of the setting sun. Windows down, arms waving against the coastal wind, we all dream of days like these. A day spent with close friends or with a hopeful romance, the cadmium California coastline during the summer is one that embraces all.

Dane Amar’s PCH ft. Lew attempts to capture an intangible moment in time; the birth of nostalgia. It’s a moment in time you are unaware of until it’s passed into the etchings of a memory.
Shot with vintage 2x anamorphic lenses, the film pushes every technical aspect of production to accentuate the indescribable aesthetics of a memory. Film grain, vintage distortions, classical presentation substitutes conventional sharpness for emotional acuteness. Dane Amar’s PCH is the embodiment of a fulfilled youthful past well remembered.
