Zhanerke Koilybayeva is a writer-director from Kazakhstan, living in LA. she ot her MFA in screenwriting from the New York Film Academy in April 2024. During my studies, I was able to do internships at an entertainment law and distribution company to gain more experience. Since 2020, I have been working on film sets as the 1st AD and producer in Kazakhstan. I also participated as an actress in many projects to experience what has to be in the picture and took stunt courses to be able to do everything in the frame. Before wading into the earnest waters of the entertainment industry, I traveled the world, learning about different cultures, meeting new people with different backgrounds, and making a lot of new friends.
I hold a Masters in Standardization from Moscow State Technical Institute and a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Karaganda State Technical University. In addition, I teach Kazakh national dances at the California Kazakh Cultural Center for kids to share my culture abroad every Saturday.
