Director Statement

'Dancing With Trees' was born out of a brief conversation I had with Louis Allan underneath a tree in Hampstead Heath. We delved into the importance of exploring our relationship with fear through movement and for Louis, tree climbing was a perfect outlet. I was captivated by Louis's explanation on the profound benefits the practise brought to his adult life. As a Londoner, often lamenting the absence of nature, I was struck by the realisation that an outdoor gym lay just outside my doorstep. I decided to make a short documentary hoping that this short film inspires individuals like myself to cultivate a deeper relationship with nature and themselves.
