Minako Miyake was born in 1982 in Japan. She currently lives in Kanagawa Prefecture.
She made her first film "Fireflies Burning in the Water" when she was a high school student. After that, she went on to a graphic design school, but dropped out and continued to make short films on her own: "Nagoya No Kissaten" (2014) was screened at SSFF&ASIA and "The Flight of Midnight" (2018) was nominated for several film festivals in Japan and won the Audience Award at the Aichi International Women's Film Festival and the Obuse Prize at the Obuse Short Film Festival.
In recent years she has been working with Miyakeno Cinema Co.
