Daisy's Final Goodbye
A multiple Award Winning Animated Short. "Daisy's Final Goodbye" is an evocative animated tale based on a true story. It chronicles the heart-wrenching journey of Steven, a PTSD-afflicted veteran, as he grapples with the profound loss of his devoted service dog, Daisy. The weight of this farewell is almost unbearable. As a poignant homage, filmmaker Steven Long crafts this narrative five years after Daisy's departure, celebrating not just her unwavering bond, but also honoring the countless canines who've embraced us as kin.

As a proud disabled army veteran, I've channeled the strength and tenacity from my service days into directing, producing, and scriptwriting. This journey, though filled with challenges, has always been animated by my deep-seated passion for storytelling and an appreciation for the whimsical charm of B movies. I've had the privilege to contribute to several of these cinematic treasures, a testament to my commitment to the art and my fellow filmmakers.
A shining moment in my career is the animated short film "Daisy's Final Goodbye." This project, which I wrote and directed, holds a special place in my heart and has been recognized at various film festivals. Additionally, I had the honor of being the Assistant Producer for "Pershing's Last Patriot," a moving documentary about America's last WW1 Veteran, Frank Buckles, now streaming on Tubi and Amazon Prime.
Beyond the realm of film, I've delved into music, culminating in the heartfelt country track "Amanda & Steve," melodiously brought to life by Lisa Graham.
"Daisy's Final Goodbye" holds a profound significance in my heart. This isn't just a tale presented on screen, but an echo of genuine emotions and cherished memories. Daisy was more than a pet; she was an unwavering companion, a beacon of solace, and truly my best friend. Through this work, I aim not only to celebrate her incredible spirit but also to honor all beloved pets that have deeply touched our lives before making their gentle journey across the Rainbow Bridge. Their memories remain evergreen, forever cherished in our hearts.
