DO YOU DARE TO PEEP THROUGH THE GLORYHOLE?

A cinematic odyssey that begins in the crushing depths of a psychological Atlantis and ends in the sun-bleached void of the Sahara. DO YOU DARE TO PEEP THROUGH THE GLORYHOLE? is an exploration of the oldest choice known to man: which wolf do you feed? The one that lets the water in, or the one that builds the boat?

The film opens in the 'Blue Abyss' of Module D, where architectural mistakes and surgical separations of souls create a pressure greater than the ocean itself. This primal struggle for air sets the stage for a descent into the 'Grand Cirque Bizarre'—a world of 'Animal Control' and 'Slaughter Discos'. Here, the 'Gloryhole' serves as the ultimate aperture for our collective voyeurism and consumption. The journey finally exhales in the Sahara, where the irony of human existence reaches its peak: selling sand where there is nothing else to buy. It is a 60-minute meditation on entropy, trauma, and the persistent, unnecessary act of creation.

Director Biography - Alex Es

Alex Es (Design Ministeriet)

"Alex Es is an award-winning architect of spatial storytelling and the visionary force behind Design Ministeriet. His work operates at the volatile intersection of industrial discipline, cinematic surrealism, and psychological inquiry. With a rapidly growing record of over 104 official festival selections—including prestigious laurels from Pinewood and international avant-garde circuits—Es has established himself as a prolific and provocative voice in contemporary experimental cinema.

Drawing on his background in architecture, Es treats the screen as a modular environment where trauma, desire, and the 'unnecessary' are constructed and dismantled. His cinematic language is defined by a brutalist aesthetic—utilizing raw concrete halls, submerged abysses, and desolate deserts to map the internal landscapes of the human condition.

Based in Denmark, Alex Es continues to push the boundaries of mid-length film, asking the fundamental question that haunts every creator: Do we feed the wolf that drowns, or the one that builds the boat?

Director Statement

"As an architect, I know that even if the paper dissolves, the act of drawing is what keeps you from becoming the ocean itself. This film is my 'boat'. By starting in the submerged trauma of Atlantis and concluding with the satirical marketplace of the Sahara, I wanted to map the trajectory of human desire. We are all trapped in modules of our own making, peeping through the gloryholes of our distractions. The film asks the viewer to choose their wolf: will you drown in the quiet blue of your past, or will you find the rhythm in 'the suck' and keep building? In the end, we are all just selling sand in our own private deserts, but the act of doing so is what makes us human."
