Experiencing Interruptions?

DOE EYED

Coco Kruger’s daily routine consists mainly of binge drinking, playing virtual reality hunting games, and aimlessly pacing around her garbage-encrusted apartment. Once a promising young performance artist, Coco finds herself in the cyclical grasp of depressive loneliness, only breaking her self-imposed house arrest to attend an exhibition jointly developed by her ex-boyfriend, Dalton Dunning, and a renowned legend of the art world, Geve.

After Dalton’s performance descends into chaos after an audio miscue, Coco is reminded of her desperate desires for artistic validation, as well as introduced to a festering feeling of spite towards Dalton and his gimmicky art. After Coco watches a video of a deer with brain damage run in circles for hours, she realizes her silent suffering can be made tangible within the medium of performance art, sparking her unlikely return to the world she once shunned.

Unfortunately, Coco’s desire for greatness doesn’t outpace her worsening mental health, realizing her fervent ambition to make a lasting, meaningful name for herself isn’t enough to break through the cynicism of her more successful contemporaries.

Director Biography - John Dietrich Lindell

John Lindell is an NYC-based writer, director, editor, and occasional music producer. He graduated SUNY Purchase College's renowned Film Conservatory in May 2025, and he is desperate to be able to have a career in film. Insanely desperate. So desperate, in fact, that despite writing this bio in the third person, he is willing to break the facade and reiterate that he really really wants to work in film. Like a lot.
