Damaged But Interesting
Art Jensen, struggling writer, is having an existential crisis, and it's only Monday; he does not know if he is Dickens or a dickhead. He wants his play produced in the West End but he can't get a break so he spends his days on the sofa watching daytime TV. That is, until his long-suffering girlfriend, Sally, turns up asking awkward questions he can't answer, like 'When are you going to grow up and get a real job?'
'Damaged But Interesting' is a Proof-of-Concept film with the aim of building the story of Art into a feature length film (already scripted).

As a Filmmaker I've had the privileged to work in a wide range of mediums from Film and TV to Branded and Commercial content with a plethora of household names. No matter which medium I am working within, I always endeavor to continue exploring my deep interest in identity and character in order to create human stories.
'Damaged But Interesting' is a fascinating look at the mind of a tortured artist, something I probably relate to far more than I'd like, though I'd hope I deal with it a little better than Art. The film plays on our common human doubts and our universal ability to blame the world for our problems instead of dealing with them head-on. Callum and Alice were a brilliant pairing in the roles of the struggling couple and brought out the unique comedy styling of the script with ease.
