DADAM

The title of the video links to Adam and Dada. This combination of words can be understood in the context of video from several aspects. Dada elements are present in the video, and Adam is the first person to represent pioneering. Adam was, after all, the avant-garde of mankind. The fact that the video also reflects my authentic being (everyday life) allows us to see the work as standing in the position of Adam (the first climber), who in a sense, as the author, "fights" with life.
The video Dadam is based on an older work (100Minutes / 2020), which was accelerated from the original length of 100 minutes to 10 minutes. This reduction in time again refers to the dada's playfulness, and can also be a reference to the haste of the present, as well as to the compression of "life" into a "trailer."

Director Biography

Jan Adamove (1971)
Visual artist, film theorist and pedagogue. Since 2004 he has worked at the Department of Intermedia and Digital Media (Faculty of Fine Arts, Academy of Arts in Banska Bystrica / Slovakia). He devotes himself to experimental video films in which he focuses in topics such as: memory, power, movement, time.
