1. Objective:
The main objective of the Cypriot and Greek Film Festival of Barcelona is to present to the Spanish public contemporary Cypriot and Greek feature films in an effort to highlight contemporary artistic currents and productions from Cyprus and Greece.
2. Individual Objectives:
2.1 Present Cyprus and Greece as a film setting and film production location.
2.2 Promotion of cultural diversity through the filming and promotion of new films.
2.3 Support the emerging creative initiative of contemporary films, especially those made in Cyprus and Greece.
2.4 Promoting the creation of social ties between Barcelona and Greece and Cyprus.
2.5 Strengthening the cooperative relations between companies and creators.
3. Sponsors and Supporters:
The Cypriot and Greek Film Festival of Barcelona is organized by Oktana Casa de Cultura and sponsored by the Department of Contemporary Culture of the Deputy Ministry of Culture of Cyprus, the Hellenic Cinema Center and the Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece. It is also supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Spain, the Embassy of Greece in Spain, the online film platform Filmin, the Greek Community of Catalonia, the Official Language School of Barcelona, the Deputy Ministry of Tourism of Cyprus and local companies such as Punt de Gir.
4. Competition Part and Screening of Films:
4.1 The selected films will compete for the following awards: Jury's Best Film Award and Audience Favorite Film Award.
4.2 The winning films will be awarded a prize, a cash prize and the possibility to be included in the catalog of Filmin's VOD platform.
4.3 Films will be evaluated by a Jury consisting of at least four prominent members of the local film community.
4.4 The winning films will be announced on the last day of the Festival in a ceremony at the cinema.
4.5 The Festival can exhibit the selected films on the days and times it deems appropriate. Each film will be shown only once in Cinemes Girona, located in the center of Barcelona city, with the appropriate equipment for the best viewing of the film.
