Director - Panfred Reed, Sebastian Carr
Director Statement

Panfred Reed and Sebastian Carr first met as teenagers while producing a Marvel Musical Parody in their local community. Since then, they have traveled parallel paths, honing their individual crafts while supporting one another.

Cut/Out marks Pan’s third short film as a Director (following his studies at the VCA) and Seb’s first time as a Writer/Director. The project began with Seb, an actor by trade, looking to produce personalized footage for showreels and an excuse to get a group of actors in a room to shoot scenes. However, the writing process quickly snowballed, and the film evolved into a messy, honest exploration of friendship and attachment. After developing the story, Seb sat down with Pan to read the script.
Pan simply asked, “So, are we making this now?”
The rest is Cut/Out.
