Director Biography - Ali Kisitu

Ali Kisitu, born 24 yearsago in luweero district. He's an upcoming filmmaker who likes to experiment with visual effects and animation. Professionally he's an engineer (a Surveyor to be specific).
The reason as of why he makes films is simply because he loves them, plus he enjoy storytelling.
When he finished my diploma back in 2019, he decided to revive his dream of becoming a film maker and he has made a couple of shortfilms, including S.T.E.P (basically this wasn't scripted) , BLAQUE(my favourite), ALMOST INDOORS (my first) and CURFEW KNIGHTS (an animated short).

Director Statement

When I was 12, I got the very first glimpse of how films are
made. (I guess it was around 2009 when I saw Forbidden
Kingdom’s behind the scenes on Record TV). That made me fall
in love with filmmaking, I’ve always wanted to make an animated
film.
I mean it’s something different, telling a story through
puppeteering with a computer, drawing or puppets them selves.
I’ve tried telling stories through sketching during my high school
and it worked. But those were school times. Right now I wanted
to put something on plate, something different that a bigger
population can look at.
Curfew Knights is clearly not be the best animation you have
seen around the country but this is just a work of passion that
marks my enthusiasm to create as a filmmaker.
I’m inspired by different brains around the Globe and our very
owns, Loukman Ali, Raymond Malinga, Joseph Segwanya (Joswil
Animex) and more. I’ve been around trying to create and trust
me, but those three people have all played a part in motivating
me to create this specific piece, not only by seeing their work but
also talking to me about creating. So shout outs to them.
I hope to make more better stories, because I mean we are all
here to learn through mistakes, I welcome all the critism howver
bashing it will be. Thanks
