Bukky Adeyokunnu is a Nigerian-American portrait photographer and filmmaker. She is curious about the world and uses art as a medium to observe, study, and understand it. As an immigrant-American woman, she strives to tell stories of underrepresented communities.
This mini-documentary examines why women cut their hair and explore their relationship before and after their haircuts. I hope to also explore how maintaining short hair changes the daily experiences women have with others. This video is meant to start a discussion on the conversational gap in regards to black hair.
