Cricket

I wrote the script in 2017, I was supposed to finish it in 2021, but I had to look for a composer for a year. The film was planned as a premonition of a great disaster, war. I drew a parallel between a fairy tale recorded in the second half of the 19th century in Italy and the collapse of a totalitarian empire, the black core of which remains the Russian Federation, in our time. I would like this evil to disappear with the remnants of the empire.
It hurts me a lot that so far my voice is not heard and I can not do anything except what I do in the cinema.

Statement:

I was interested in the perspective of a fairy tale about a trickster, as if from the outside, somewhat detached ... from the point of view of ordinary people, with their worldly trivial reaction to a miracle... From rejection - to spiritual transformation.

This film is an experiment with narrative form, where the role of music, sound, becomes equal to the image, without any priorities.
Thus, the ultimate expressiveness is achieved!

I am very grateful to Composer Boris Filanovsky, who managed to preserve the structure of the music, which I was guided by during my work, and at the same time traced the dramaturgy of the film.
Experienced Sound Designer Yuri Priymenko allowed the film to sound in full force.
Producer Dmitry Mosyagin successfully helped to translate my idea into a finished film.

In this film, the image changes every three frames, as opposed to the traditional 1-2 frames, in order to preserve the nerve and emotional instability, creating the effect of a slight strobe of video.
A frozen frame can last up to several seconds in some cases. But I constantly use a live static picture in addition to constantly changing frames (filters) for the background.

PS The film was filmed completely in Israel (1/3 is for my money, 2/3 was supported from the Ministry of Culture of RF)
