Crestline Fire Murders
While fire rages through the Southern California hills, a killer is on the loose and a homicide detective must solve the baffling and seemingly unconnected murders.
Synopsis: In Southern California, a small group of researchers has achieved the impossible. They start with ocean water and end up with the purest water outside a Coca-Cola plant. The process is fast and cheap, it widens the eyes of Iggy Ignacio, a local investor, and host of Iggy’s Pool, a reality show where wannabe entrepreneurs pitch products and services with the hope that someone will invest. Iggy promise’s the moon even as fires rage over the desert-dry hills.
The race to secure funding for the breakthrough drives the small group, but every investor who tastes the pure water later ends up dead.
And not just the possible investors. Of the four-person team that defied the ocean, first one and then another is mysteriously murdered. One drowns. The other dies in one of the huge conflagrations.
Detective Marsha Timmon, along with her gorgeous but ice-cold partner race from murder to murder, seeking a killer or killers who leave no clues. Fire cleanses better than bleach.
Interweaved through the murders is the story of Marsha’s family, her daughter, and parents. Fire destroys Marsha’s parents’ house and sends her mother to the hospital. Marsha daughter, Whitney, takes over the job of bringing her grandfather into the 21st century. At her behest, he buys a Prius that he fails to recharge and clothes outside his age group. A wrong turn in the Prius puts Whitney and her grandfather in the path of fire—when the car dies.
As the murders mount up, Marsha connects the dots concerning the water—where it came from and where it goes. She arrives in time to save a life and shoot the killer who murdered in the cause of saving the planet.
Marsha and her family survive the events even as it begins to rain.
