Coriander & A Penny's Worth of Lonesome

When vaudeville performer Coriander Simm is plucked from the stage, she has no idea what lies ahead performing as Valentino's last love during his 1926 wake in NYC. Add an over-protective stepbrother with more than brotherly love on his mind and an amorous 'puss-pitcher' from United Artists, plus a rival movie star intent on usurping Coriander's position as the bereaved suitor and you've got a loving tribute to the films of yesteryear and the Tin Pan Alley.

Director Statement

I've always been a fan of puppets -- I grew up in England and was raised on 'Thunderbirds', 'Cpt. Scarlet' and 'Joe 90.' With 'Coriander', I wanted to create a CG feature film - by myself - that harkened back to those early inspirations and my own love of stop motion. This film is the antithesis of the polished and plastic Pixar event with adult themes, situations and characters driven by the events of the past as filtered through the technology of today. With Ron Falzone's outstanding script and a wonderful cast, I was able to complete a tribute to the power of early cinema and the rise of movie royalty in the USA.
