Director Biography - Eve Zhao

Originally from China, Eve Zhao developed her interest in film since her childhood, from her grandmother who's been an actor and writer all her life. The idea of bringing a story to real life which allows people to be fully emerged into a whole different world deeply rooted in her ever since. Yet fascinated by the cinema world, Zhao followed her family's will and obtained her BMA in Australia, where she further developed her skillsets in photography and visual arts, and sought all the opportunities she could to work in film. After graduation, she moved to the US and started her journey she's always been longing for as a filmmaker.

Eve Zhao believes that details make a huge difference in cinema and therefore, motif and visual metaphors could be seen constantly in her work. She also puts her focus on asian studies and nuclear family relationships, and by going through the journey herself, she learns to understand the world from multiple perspectives and has been reflecting that in her work.
