Connections
A young man reflects on the moments he could not share with his father, by getting lost in the constant rush of life, as he spends some time in an old countryside cottage. Within the worn wooden walls, he passes through faded memories, missed gatherings, unspoken words, recalling a distance that was never bridged in their past due to constant procrastination. Alone with his thoughts, he comes to a painful realization: it’s too late to rewrite their story.

Domonkos Százados is an aspiring Media Artist, Animator, and Filmmaker.
Domonkos has recently turned 18 and is dedicated to pursuing a career as a creative filmmaker. For the past two years, he has been studying media art, drawing and videography, refining his creative skills. He is also among the founding members of a poetry writing artist collective. His debut short film, "Connections" has already gained professional recognition as a finalist in the National Film and Media Studies Competition (OKTV Hungary).
Domonkos believes that this film could open doors to and build connections within an international audience through platforms like FilmFreeway, marking the beginning of his filmmaking journey on the global stage.
The goal of this film is to present a simple, personal story interwoven with fictional elements, reminding the audience of a fundamental truth: our loved ones will not stay with us forever. Time inevitably passes, and we must seize every opportunity to be with those who truly matter.
The concept of "Connections" can be interpreted in many ways, but for me, its essence lies in the parent-child relationship. In this film, I chose to focus on this primary bond, while also reflecting the idea of connections in the structure of the narrative itself. Small, key-moment events are linked together like fragments of memory, much like the pages of a family album.
The theme of procrastination also plays a significant role in both the language and dramaturgy of the film. Words we use so often in everyday life like "later", "soon", "someday", "another time", "in a minute" are not just part of the dialogue but also serve as thematic pillars supporting the title and message of the film. These expressions carry the risk of postponing moments indefinitely, until the "another time" we keep promising never actually comes.
I want to send a strong and simple message via "Connections":
Don’t let constant procrastination drift away the most important encounters for you! Don’t wait!
