Connection

A folk singer that’s isolated himself from society runs into a girl that gets lost hiking. She’s bad with directions and is recklessly determined to find her way back. He decides to help her but along the way has to come to terms with his boxed away feelings.

Director Biography - Peter Burghen

Peter Burghen is a recent Drexel University graduate with a passion in music and filmmaking. He started out by making home videos with stuffed animals in iMovie, and eventually got friends involved. He went to Drexel to pursue his interest in filmmaking, and to better tell stories from his heart. Music has always been a big part of his life, and when university started he started composing. After a few years he became more confident in his work, and decided to blend his music and film together.

Director Statement

With Connection, I wanted to create that warm hug of a feeling music gives you. Romance stories are some of the most impactful for me, and I knew it would be tough challenge to make a good one. Being able to trust my team and let them all bring their own ideas to the table made this film so much different from the one I initially had in my mind, but I'm glad it took the form it did. It still has that heart and naturalistic charm I wanted to achieve, and when some things are out of your hands they can fall into place better than you could've imagined.
