Her work examines how comedy can transform pain into connection and creative expression.
Comedy has always intrigued me as a form of emotional alchemy. Stand-up comedians craft some of their most difficult experiences into something that allows audiences to laugh, connect, and feel less alone.
With Comedy Is Alchemy, I am exploring the craft and discipline behind that transformation. This documentary film examines how comedians shape vulnerability, pain, and personal history into performance. What interests me most is the moment when something deeply human becomes both laughter and survival.
As a filmmaker drawn to stories where humor, hardship, and honesty intersect, I see stand up comedy not only as entertainment but as a powerful form of resilience.
