Director Biography - Ayub Shakhobiddinov

Biofilmography

Ayub Shakhobiddinov was born in 1977 in Tashkent. He graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Arts and High courses in Moscow (Studio of S.Solovev and V.Rubinchik). Participant and winner of many international film festivals. His film “Tulip in the Snow” was presented at an out-of-competition screening at the Cannes Film Festival (2004). The film "Yurt" (2007) was awarded the prize for best actor at the Kinoshok festival, the Grand Prix at the Sinemarina International Film Festival (Turkey), the Grand Prix at the National Film Festival (Tashkent), and the International jury award IFF Didor (Dushanbe). The film “Parizod” (Heaven - My dwelling place ) won the Grand Prix at several international festivals, also received a prize for best directing at the Second New York Festival of Eurasian Films - 2013 (USA). Parizod became owner Gran Prix of Open Festival of Cinema of the CIS countries, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia Kinoshock-2012. This film was screened at Cambridge University, George Washington University and other universities in the USA, South Korea, Japan and Uzbekistan. Premieres as part of Literature and Cinema Day in France, at the UN Office in Tashkent.
