Co-Husband is related to mountain life/culture of Nepal. This film revolves around the polyandry custom prevalent among the Lama communities living in the Mountain region of Nepal. Among Lamas of Humla district of Nepal, there is still a very strange tradition, which may be a matter of great surprise to many. Lama brothers, no matter what in numbers they are, just marry a girl (have a common wife). They not only share their love and work, they also share a wife among them.

Ganesh Panday is a Nepali PhD scholar, media personality, and award-winning documentary filmmaker with extensive experience in media, communication, and documentary production. He is the Managing Director of Shine Media Private Limited.
He has directed more than 200 documentaries and short films for national and international organizations, with his works screened at over 120 international film festivals worldwide, earning more than 50 international awards and honors.
His internationally acclaimed documentary “Bhagyale Bachekaharu (Nepal Earthquake: Heroes, Survivors and Miracles)” received historic recognition after being screened at the UK Parliament, making him the first Nepali documentary filmmaker to showcase a film at the Houses of Parliament in the United Kingdom. The documentary highlights powerful stories of survival, resilience, and humanitarian response following Nepal’s 2015 earthquake.
Another major work, “Co-Husband”, has received widespread international acclaim and multiple awards across film festivals worldwide, further establishing his reputation as a leading voice in humanitarian and socially driven documentary filmmaking.
He has also been invited by several international universities, including City University of New York (CUNY) in the United States, the University of Wisconsin–Madison, and Xi’an University in China, for academic exchange, lectures, and presentations on documentary filmmaking and media studies.
