Maulana Latif Hanafi, or simply Latif, is a talented young director hailing from Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Born on February 19, 2008, he is a budding filmmaker with a deep passion for storytelling. His cinematic journey began at the tender age of 12 with his debut project, "Ojo Bolos Sekolah" (Don't Skip School). Since then, he has been dedicated to honing his skills and delving deeper into the art of filmmaking.
My aim in making this documentary is to spread the village's clean culture. This culture should be preserved so that it does not become extinct, because it is an important part of the cultural heritage in Gunungkidul. Apart from that, this documentary also functions as an educational effort for the younger generation, so that they know and appreciate the clean village traditions that have been passed down by our ancestors.
