Class Reunion
I'll paint my nails, pop some bubbly!
This AI-generated music video for the Czech duo Čokovoko uses irony and grotesque humor to portray the rituals of getting ready for a class reunion – an event that quickly slips into staged spectacle. What begins as a celebration turns into a surreal performance filled with beautification routines, illusions, and absurd fantasies of success.
A retro-futuristic aesthetic sarcastically underscores the contrast between illusion and reality, revealing the pressures of self-presentation in the age of social media.

Jiří Philippe Janda (1988) is a visual artist, architect, and PhD candidate at the Faculty of Art and Design UJEP. His work combines generative AI, video art, and fictional worldbuilding to explore themes of identity, memory, and digital transformation. Moving between documentary, fiction, and surreal aesthetics, his projects reflect on the absurdities of contemporary life and the influence of technology on human experience.
Class Reunion is an AI-generated music video that explores identity, illusion, and performance in the age of social media. Inspired by the surreal humor and raw honesty of the Czech duo Čokovoko, I wanted to create a synthetic visual world that both exaggerates and critiques the rituals of beautification and self-staging.
I used tools like Midjourney, Runway ML, and Kling to construct a retro-futuristic aesthetic that deliberately distorts bodily presence and materiality. The result is a hybrid between music video, digital hallucination, and social satire.
For me, working with generative models is not just about image creation – it's about collaboration with systems that simulate culture. I am fascinated by how artificial intelligence reshapes our sense of authenticity, intimacy, and visual memory. Through glitchy, hyperreal scenes, Class Reunion reflects both the joy and anxiety of being seen in a world where appearance is endlessly performative.
