Director Statement

Class Photo is a seriocomedy narrative originating from my retired stand-up comedy bits. Since presenting the material on stage, I thought it would be heightened by the full expressive power of film media. Being largely autobiographical, the themes were extremely emotionally challenging, but cathartic to explore. It is my hope that viewers will find meaning in the identities of the principal characters, and glean insight from their inner struggle, with humor.

A native Angeleno, I really enjoyed showcasing Los Angeles landmarks while putting together this film.

I am proud of Class Photo's talented cast, all of whom delivered moving, profound, and humorous performances under challenging conditions, and on a difficult theme.
