Cirlot, la mirada de Bronwyn

Documentary on the Spanish poet, symbologist and critic Juan-Eduardo Cirlot (1916-1973) and his cycle of works dedicated to Bronwyn, a character from the movie The War Lord (1965).

One evening in the Summer of 1966, Juan Eduardo Cirlot saw Bronwyn, the maiden, coming out of the waters of a swamp in a film. This image would change forever the life and work ot this poet, composer, art critic, symbologist and sword collector. Through the testimony of those who knew him first hand, this documentary portraits one of the most influential and unfairly forgotten Catalan artists of the Twentieth century, while also illustrating a singular case of interbreeding between poetry and cinema.

The film includes interviews with some major Catalan avant-garde artists and historians: Victòria Cirlot, Lourdes Cirlot, Antoni Tàpies, Modest Cuixart, Josep Maria Subirachs, Luis de Pablo, Joan Guinjoan, Fernando Millán, Josep Guinovart, Arnau Puig, Rafael Canogar, José Corredor-Matheos, Carlos Edmundo de Ory, Josep Maria Sans, Antonio Beneyto, Gustavo Gili, Jaime D. Parra, Luís Alberto de Cuenca, Enric Granell and Miquel Porter i Moix.
