Neda Zamani is a writer and artist based in Dubai, whose artistic journey began with storytelling and short fiction. She holds a diploma in filmmaking from S.A.E. and has made a few very short experimental films, often under two minutes in length, as early explorations of form and emotion. The Circle of Trust is her first documentary, where she turns her lens toward the themes of migration, solitude, and friendship through a personal perspective.
Ali Zamani holds a Bachelor’s degree in Performing Arts from Shiraz Azad University and has completed courses in directing. He has directed three or four stage plays in Shiraz and previously made two short films, each around five minutes long. The Circle of Trust marks his first documentary, exploring migration, solitude, and friendship through a collaborative and personal perspective.
As a migrant myself, this project has been a deeply personal journey. The Circle of Trust explores not only the visible challenges of migration—work, financial struggles, and social adaptation—but also the often-overlooked emotional and existential layers that follow. Most discussions about migration focus on basic survival and material difficulties, yet little is said about the subtler, internal experiences that shape our sense of belonging, identity, and connection. Through this film, I aim to illuminate these hidden dimensions and the complex process of building trust and friendship in a new land.
