Kyle Chattam, aka Chattam the Gawd, aka Santiago the Alchemist, aka Mr. Never Not Working is an award-winning, creative director and filmmaker with an expertise for bringing the mystical into the mainstream. A lover of Black culture, both historical and present, Chattam develops stories that shape the future and shake the roots.
As a product of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Florida A&M University, Chattam started his career producing, directing, and editing videos for his peers. After establishing his own artist collective, Alien Astronauts, he went on to produce an annual guerilla-style pop up art show titled ‘Waffles & Brews'. The sold-out show routinely featured both local, out of state, and international artists which furthered Chattam’s network and fueled a hunger for more dynamic productions.
Whether he’s curating the next AfroFuturism Ball or filming documentaries in Cuba with his friends, Chattam lives to curate expansive experiences. Post college, Chattam has stayed active both in front of and behind the camera. His client list features over 50 notable brands including Google, Instagram, Bacardi, TikTok, Def Jam, Atlanta United, Movement for Black Lives, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and many, many more.
His film work continues to rise. Two more recent projects Blychdelic (Director/DP/Editor) and Glitter Ain’t Gold (Editor) have received nearly 20 awards to date, including a 2022 SXSW Special Jury Recognition - Directing & Community Filmmaking for Glitter Ain’t Gold which stood out for its vibrant narrative and authentically palpable energy filled with compelling visuals and inventive editing harmoniously coupled with powerfully nostalgic music.
Relying on juxtaposition, surrealism, and propaganda he is in phase two of his plot for world domination. Chattam's new adventure, Love Propaganda, is an experimental campaign scheduled to release in the near future, but definitely before the aliens come.
