Chispa

The 8-year-old Marta is already a very independent and responsible child. She wants to support her overburdened single dad. However, she is losing something by doing so. His attention.
When she feels responsible for everything again the next day, it becomes too much for her. Marta skips school to see her dad. But he has no time for her at his second job. Disappointed, she leaves him. Full of worry, he finds her alone at home.
Together they try to find a language for her emotions.

Director Biography - Vera Kayh

Vera Kayh is currently studying fictional film directing at the FABW since 2020. She spent a semester abroad at UCINE (FUC) in Buenos Aires in 2023.
Previously, she worked as an actress at the Theater Krefeld and Mönchengladbach, for a duration of three years. In 2020, Vera was awarded the Joachim Fontheim Prize for the Promotion of Young Artists. In 2017 Vera received her Bachelor Degree Of Arts in Acting at the HMDK Stuttgart. Vera Kayh was born in Tübingen, Germany.

Director Statement

Whether in Argentina or Germany, as a woman in the family, one quickly and naturally assumes responsibilities, like Marta. I want to take the young girl's feelings and problems seriously, give them space and offer the opportunity to develop empathy.
