Children of Tito

‘Children of Tito’ is a documentary, introducing the situation of ethnic Hungarian women in Vojvodina during the Balkan Wars, and the 1999 NATO bombing of Serbia. The story is giving a glimpse into the life of six girlfriends, during these challenging times. Their recollection of events and narration as well as archive recordings make the film palpable. We are taken on a journey through their early life, when Yugoslavia was a big and prosperous country under J. B. Tito’s rule. We get to experience their perspective of the fall and disintegration of Yugoslavia, the everyday life during the war, and especially the time of the 1999 NATO Bombing of Serbia. The director of the film is the son of one of the protagonists, which gives an even more personal and intriguing touch to the narrative.
