Director Statement

"In 2009 I visited Clarksdale, Mississippi for the first time. In 2011 I shot the the first footage for what would eventually become CHEESEHEAD BLUES RE-CUT. Although I finished a commissioned version of my film in 2015, I was never fully satisfied with the result. So in 2019 I decided to do a new edit, resulting in CHEESEHEAD BLUES RE-CUT. Although Theo "Boogieman" Dasbach is my main character, CHEESEHEAD BLUES RE-CUT is also a portrait of Clarksdale, Mississippi: a town that has re-invented itself in order to keep the blues alive."
