“Checked Out”

Armed with enthusiasm, Richard’s first day as manager of Dollar Town during the Big July 4th Sale, finds the universe clocked in against him. With two chronically unmotivated employees and a third guy older than electricity, Richard’s patients soon spiral into absurdity. This story is based on a true 2020 Brazilian photograph “sort of”, and the rest is fueled by pure imagination. As America celebrates her 250th BIRTHDAY this July 4th, “CHECKED OuT” is the perfect film to get you in the fireworks festivities spirit. Audiences across America will be cheering for the underachievers, under appreciated and underdog in all of us!

Director Biography - Chandler Roberts

With a lifelong love for writing and movies, I naturally chose to major in film at Southeastern University in central Florida. As a kid I appeared in a couple of commercials and was in an acting troupe which satisfied my imagination and creativity. Quickly, my interests became more focused on the happenings behind the cameras than in front of them. This April I wrote, directed and produced my third film, “Checked Out”. It’s a semi-dark comedy which takes a peak inside a fictitious store called DOLLAR TOWN, and one guys will to just survive his first day as the boss! Based on a true 2020 Brazilian photograph “sort of”… Stay tuned for the credits to see the inspiration behind my story.

Director Statement

Writing is my passion and I’m actually working on completing my first novel which I look forward to having published. I enjoy the entire process of storytelling, researching and the creative process of telling a tale no one’s experienced before. With a backlog of scripts and chronicles I look forward to sharing on film, I am blessed each day and can’t wait to begin my next project.
