Chashma (Spectacles)

Three small boys are playing cricket when the ball goes into the house of an old man. The boys ring the bell and the old man answers the door. The old man searches for the ball but cannot find it. One of the boys notices that the old man is wearing spectacles with extremely dirty lenses and offers to clean them for him. To his surprise, the old man politely turns down his offer saying that the spectacles are not dirty. The boys find the ball and leave.

Why does the old man say that the spectacles are not dirty?

Often times, while things don’t change, our perspective of looking at them changes completely. Sometimes we end up missing the things which used to irritate us. Sometimes the circumstances change in ways that things we earlier found irritating, suddenly become endearing.
