Sam Ciurdar is a Romanian-American, award-winning filmmaker and commercial director based in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. With a strong visual voice and emotional storytelling style, Sam’s work spans narrative film, music videos, and branded content. His short films have earned multiple awards and screened at festivals worldwide, while his music videos have aired on both MTV and CMT.
Beyond narrative work, Sam has directed commercials and campaigns for global brands including Google, Amazon, Starbucks, Infiniti, Mazda, Sony, and Bose. He is currently developing his debut feature film, continuing to blend striking visuals with human stories that resonate long after the credits roll.
Changing Courts began with a simple curiosity: what drives someone at the top of their game to start over? In Jack Sock, I saw more than an elite athlete — I saw a human story about change, risk, and rediscovery. This documentary isn't just about tennis or pickleball; it's about identity, legacy, and the courage it takes to rewrite your narrative in front of the world. As a filmmaker, I was drawn to the rawness of that transition — the moments of doubt, the quiet triumphs, and the resilience it takes to begin again. My hope is that Changing Courts resonates far beyond sports — as a story for anyone standing at the edge of something new.
