Uday Alexander is a 26 year old filmmaker from Sydney, Australia. He is a graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School and is currently working on transitioning from short films and music videos to features.

Director Statement

Changeling is a look at the trauma of colonisation through the lens of a fairytale. The mother has had her baby stolen and we follow her desperate attempt to rescue it, even when everyone warns her it's too late. It also ties in themes of environmental destruction, the Imp's corruption passing through to the mother via the baby. Taking visual inspiration from the works of Akira Kurosawa and David Lowery, Changeling is a vibrant but dark fable.
