Chamedan (The Suitcase)
This is the trailer/promo of the BBC Persian TV docu-series on the Iranian diaspora. The program launched in 2013 is an interview-style profiling documentary that brings hot topics like racism, xenophobia, anti-immigration, and Persian diaspora social issues. The trailer was used to promote the 5th season (Jan-Feb 2022) which was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement in USA, and for the first time in Persian media history, we told stories of mixed Persians like afro-Persians; a Latin-Carrabien Persian, A Japanese-Persian and three Persian-African couples.

Amir Payam is an award-winning Iranian producer and director working for BBC World Service since 2009.
He launched “The Suitcase” in 2013 as an oral history project on the Persian diaspora. Since then, he produced 109 episodes (5 Seasons) and got several awards such as the 2014 Silver Medal from The New York International Festival for being among the best human stories of the year.
