For 12 years now, Leonor Bettencourt Loureiro (born in Porto in 1993) has been working in filmmaking, advertising, television programs, music videos, and fashion campaigns. She is a freelance director with several co-productions with RTP2 (nacional television), award-winning fashion films, and some advertising projects on her portfolio.
She has lived and worked between Lisbon and Porto, and it was in Arroios (neighborhood in Lisbon) that she founded a cultural project aimed at the community, called Corrente.
Leonor belongs to a new generation of multitasking and entrepreneurial creatives. She looks to the world for inspiration and guides her projects following a DIY (do it yourself) ethic.
This film is my reflection, in mockumentary form, on gentrified Lisbon, pillaged and increasingly less for the Lisboners. This film is for laughing, so we don't cry. It's from Portugal, but it could be universal. It's cinema, but it's very much 2023, blending languages and challenging genres.
It's political.
