Jennifer A Davis is a Director, Writer and Producer born and raised in sunny Southern California. She has had a love of the theater and performing on stage since she was very young and found a passion for filmmaking soon after. She has had a love for mystery and teen thrillers since she was a child, reading "Goosebumps" novels and watching "The Twilight Zone". She is an avid fan of Alfred Hitchcock, Sofia Coppola, M. Knight Shyamalan, John Krasinski, Steven Spielberg and Ron Howard, to name a few!
She loves writing films that make people think and gain an emotional connection with, and prides herself on working with many Female filmmakers. She encourages other women to pursue their dreams and passion for the industry! In fact, in her highly-awarded short film “The Dinner Party”, 90% of the cast and crew were women!
Jennifer obtained her MFA in Screenwriting at the California State University, Fullerton in May 2023. She is working on films she has written in recent years, as well as Producing, Writing and Casting for fellow Independent Filmmakers in Los Angeles and Orange County.
She resides in the OC with her two beloved kittens, Hank & Henri, loves coffee, music, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
I wrote the concept for "Cemetery Games" during my time in Grad School as part of a class assignment where I had to develop film concepts across various genres. I was so passionate about the concept that I wrote the short film in a single night. After discussing the idea with my Producer, Keilee Bentley, we swiftly moved into production within two months.
The casting process was an easy one, and our lead actresses Charlotte Pulley, Rachel Douma, and Hannah Rebecca Allen were not only incredibly talented but also a pleasure to collaborate with. Working with them was a director's dream - they were professional, well-prepared, and brought a positive energy to the set.
Despite filming during the coldest weekend of winter, both the cast and our dedicated crew persevered to create something truly special. This project holds a special place in our hearts as it marked our first film production post-Pandemic.
