Cai Barnard-Dadds is a Welsh filmmaker from Swansea. After writing, directing and winning awards for his independent feature anti-romance film 'Sinatra Blue', he was ready to use his experience with depicting relationships to tell the true story of Captain Moonlite and James Nesbitt.
A story only touched upon by lost films and queer erasure cinema, now their story is given the chance to lay bare before you, honest and unvarnished.
When I learned about Moonlite's story I became adamant about respectfully adapting the story to film. Andrew's story holds much power, in its imagery and bold proclaimations that love matters most. His life shares an important lesson about being true to your identity even in adversity.
