CALL ME

A coincidence, fate or something else?

Romantic comedy about Dr. Vince Williams (Arek Zasowski) and fashion model Julia (Maegan Coker), connected with each other by an old mysterious cell phone which Vince found on the ground in the forest. Whilst examining the handset’s contacts list, Vince discovered that it only contains one contact name mysteriously entitled Call Me.

Director Biography - Arek Zasowski, Maegan Coker

Arek Zasowski began his acting career in London (England), in 2016, where for the first time he took part in an adaptation of a country house murder mystery play, "The Real Inspector Hound" (directed by Valerie Dent), where he recorded his voice for a role of Radio News Announcer.

In August 2016, Arek debuted on the big screen as he starred in two short student films produced at The New York Film Academy and filmed at the backlot of the Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA, which were screened at the NYFA theatre in Burbank, CA.

In "April Fools Day" (2016), a short romantic comedy directed by Kevin Luther Apaa, Arek played Calvin, a rather funny character with a peculiar sense of humour when it comes to proposing to his girlfriend, and in "You Can Heal Your Life" (2016), drama directed by Sha Peng, Arek portrayed Ben, a record producer who was trying to overcome weaknesses from his troubled past.

"LET GO: THE PRELUDE"

In March 2017, Arek Zasowski wrote, directed and produced his first ever short romance drama "Let Go: The Prelude" (2017) which was filmed in Cyprus, where Arek portrayed Henk, an archaeologist, who was struggling to come back to his normal life after losing his fiancé, the love of his life.

In May 2017, "Let Go: The Prelude" (2017) was selected to participate in the official program of the Cyprus International Film Festival, ranking in the top 100 best reviewed festivals among 5500 film festivals worldwide according to FilmFreeway and Pafos 2017 the Cultural Capital of Europe, and in June 2017, it was screened with the live audience at the festival in Cyprus. In August 2018, "Let Go: The Prelude" (2017) was officially selected for the bi-monthly competition of the Mindfield Film Festival - Albuquerque, New Mexico, and for the bi-monthly Pinnacle Film Awards Online Competition in Hollywood Hills, CA.

"CHINESE ANGEL"

In February 2018, Arek Zasowski debuted on cable television in Canada, Shaw TV, with "Chinese Angel" short drama (dir. Sha Peng) where Arek portrayed Spencer Thompson, a depression suffering financial consultant from London. Earlier in 2017, "Chinese Angel" was officially selected by Miami Independent Film Festival. In April 2018, "Chinese Angel" won Silver REMI Award in Dramatic Original category at the 51st Annual WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival – the oldest Indie Film Festival in the world, in Houston, TX. "Chinese Angel" also won Best Canadian Drama award Alternative Film Festival Summer Edition June 2018, in Toronto, Canada.

RECENT WORK

In 2018, Arek Zasowski wrote, directed and produced an international web series "Call Me" where he portrayed doctor Vince Williams. Later this (2018) year "Call Me" won a multiple awards including Best Narrative Short category at Pinnacle Film Awards Hollywood Hills, CA, Best Web / New Media category at Alternative Film Festival Summer Edition June 2018, in Toronto, Canada, and won Mindfield Film Festival • Albuquerque, New Mexico (August 2018), and Royal Wolf Film Awards in Los Angeles, CA (August 2018).

Director Statement

CALL ME has been truly one of the most challenging projects, from the logistical point of view, and in the same time, one of the most enjoyable ones. It brought together fantastic International Cast and the Crew from UK, US, Nigeria, Curaçao, France and Ukraine which is a great reflection of a diverse society that we have a pleasure to live in and a great example that we can create some great works of art if we collaborate with each other to make it happen.

CALL ME was filmed over 14 months in multiple fantastic locations like: London (England), Fife (Scotland), New York (NY), Atlanta (Georgia), Miami (FL), Lagos (Nigeria), Poland, beautiful Caribbean island of Curaçao, Gibraltar and in multiple locations across Spanish coast and islands, including: scenic Ibiza and Formentera islands, and beautiful Costas - Costa del Sol and Costa de la Luz.
