A man is constantly brooding over the break up with his girlfriend. He becomes obsessed with coins to scheme a way to get her back. Floating on his beliefs, he tries to fight back his disappointments but his mental health continues to get hurt.

Director Biography - Anirban Mandal

Anirban Mandal is a mechanical engineer and a photographer. But his true interest is movies. He is passionate about writing, acting, cinematographing, editing and directing, basically everything about filmmaking. That's why he has done all of those for his three shorts keeping the budget shoe string and making things in his own way. His first two shorts Swan lane (2021) and Antarctica (2022) have been selected various International film festivals and won several awards. He has also won quite a few recognitions in international photography contests like PX3, IPA, MIFA, TIFA and got published in National Geographic online and National Geographic Global Contests (Editors favorites) since the last seven years.

Director Statement

"Coin" is inspired from my true-life experience, all the pains felt by the protagonist were felt real. And no, i did not kill the bird, nor the snail. I found them dead already and thought of connecting them in the film. No VFX or editing was done for the plane intersecting the moon scene, it was shot as seen for real.
