Joe Martinez-Weinberger & David Clark
Co-Founders of Gallows Humor Pictures | Co-Directors & Producers of CLICKBAIT
Joe Martinez-Weinberger and David Clark are the team behind CLICKBAIT, the first feature from their independent production company, Gallows Humor Pictures. They met while working in the mailroom of a major Hollywood agency and stayed close as they navigated the industry from the bottom up.
In 2023, after being laid off during the WGA and SAG strikes, they decided to not ask for permission and start producing their own work. Gallows Humor Pictures was built to make low-budget horror comedies with a sharp point of view.
CLICKBAIT was entirely self-financed using their own assistant and mailroom salaries. It’s a found footage horror-comedy anthology that skewers modern internet culture and was made while working full-time jobs. To expand the film’s creative range, they brought in additional directors Taylor Weiss and Dean Smith to contribute their own segments.
Their aim is simple: make smart, entertaining films on their own terms, and create real opportunities for themselves and the people they collaborate with.
