'Brush Contact' uses the tropes of the spy genre to examine what it takes for a modern family to be 'there' for each other.
In the script, the spy genre represents our protagonist's strained relationship with his father—a famous author of spy fiction. As our protagonist attempts to bring his father back from the brink of dementia, he is sucked further and further into the rabbit hole of his father’s imaginary world and is forced to reevaluate his relationship with a man he thought he hated and a family he's pushed away.
