Director Statement

When creating a film for a timed competition in which no pre-writing is permitted, filmmakers must think quickly and operate efficiently to tell an entertaining story. In the making of BROKEN TRAIL, we had a general concept about a conscience-stricken man, then the required competition elements and the assigned Western genre shaped the film. BROKEN TRAIL raises classic psychological horror questions about the nature of guilt.
