Director Biography - Kaden Vasquez

Kaden Vasquez is a director, editor, writer, and cinematographer from Wichita Falls, Texas. He is also a Medical Physics student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Vasquez has self-studied filmmaking since 2018, beginning his career with commercial work and a series of video essays on a self-titled YouTube channel. Since then, Vasquez has primarily focused on narrative short films. His previous short, "Cookie Logic" (2023) played at nationally renowned festivals, including the 2024 Waco Independent Film Festival and the 2024 San Antonio Film Festival. Vasquez also received the nomination for "Filmmaker of the Year" at the Panther City Film Festival for his contributions to this film.

Recently, Vasquez has wrapped production on his next short film, "I Killed Collin Porter," with plans to release it to festivals in 2026.

Director Statement

The issues of identity and belonging raised by social media continue to challenge my generation. As I struggle with my own relationship with social media, I wanted to make light of both the humor and the horrors of the culture we have created.
