Boy meets Cow 男孩與海牛

A boy’s closest friend is a cow he has grown up with. When the cow faces an uncertain fate, the boy embarks on a journey, determined to keep his friend safe.
Along the journey, he comes to see that love, care, and understanding are far more complex than he had imagined.

男孩愷愷和家中飼養的海牛阿牛一起長大，阿牛不會說話，但愷愷相信牠能懂他。當愷愷聽見阿公準備要把阿牛賣掉時，愷愷決定帶著阿牛逃離，為他尋找一個安居的所在。然而一路上，他發現這份超越語言的羈絆遠比想像中複雜——在一次衝突後，愷愷才意識到，他並不了解阿牛真正需要的是什麼。在逃離家的旅程中，男孩一邊摸索著如何照顧另一個生命，一邊面對衝突帶來的迷惘與困惑。什麼是愛與理解呢？

Director Biography - Peyton Pei-Tsen HUNG

Graduated from NTUA's motion picture and drama departments. Director, casting, screenwriter. Grew up by the sea, loves ocean and youth themes.

Director Statement

I grew up in a coastal farming village in Taiwan. Returning after years away, I began to see how efficiency and machinery were quietly reshaping the land—tidal oxen disappearing, and the rhythms of daily life shifting.
Through a child’s journey with a silent animal, this film explores how understanding forms between beings, and how one locates oneself within a transforming environment.
I hope to preserve the fading traces of this landscape and reflect on the fragile relations between people, animals, and place. For me, filmmaking is a way to continually relearn how to see the world.

我成長於台灣靠海的農村。離家後再度回望，才意識到土地與生活方式正被效率與機械悄悄重塑：海牛從潮間帶消失，空間與節奏變得陌生。
這部片以一個孩子和海牛的出走為切入口，關注的是人如何理解一個沉默的生命，也如何在變動中辨認自己的位置。
我希望透過影像記錄這些正在消失的日常痕跡，並重新思考我們與土地、動物之間微小而脆弱的關係。電影對我而言，是持續學習觀看世界的一種方式。
