Reese Villella (she/her) is a playwright and filmmaker based in NYC. A recent graduate of NYU, she majored in subversive storytelling and is passionate about queer and female-centric narratives, body horror, and knowing how to have fun. She recently completed her internship in the script department at Saturday Night Live

Reese is an artist dedicated to reshaping the cinematic landscape with a focus on female-driven narratives, queer stories, and the horror/comedy genres.

Reese is committed to using her craft to drive positive change and inclusivity. Her work aims to elevate women's voices and make diverse narratives the standard rather than the exception. Through her films, Reese seeks to illuminate underrepresented perspectives, foster empathy, challenge societal stigma, and inspire transformative change.

Reese’s commitment to subverting traditional genres, particularly horror, body horror, and comedy, allows her to explore these themes of identity, gender, and sexuality uniquely; blending the visceral and the uncanny with dark humor, she creates narratives that both entertain and provoke thought, urging audiences to question their perceptions and assumptions.

Through her work, Reese aspires to inspire, educate, and empower audiences, encouraging them to embrace new perspectives and challenge outdated norms.
