Box
In a sprawling near-future metropolis torn between opulence and despair, society is split into two starkly different worlds. High above the smog, Crystal Heights shines like a utopia, where the elite bask in ethereal luxury among shimmering towers and airships. Below, in the shadowed depths of The Undercloud, the poor toil in grim conditions, their lives illuminated only by the flicker of failing neon and the glow of industrial decay.
Deeper still lies Box Row, a harrowing wasteland inhabited by the outcasts known as Boxers—criminals punished not with prison but with metal boxes affixed to their bodies. These devices shackle their limbs, blind their eyes, or render them destitute and disconnected from society. With no parole or leniency, time is their only hope of redemption, but even that is cruelly rationed by the faceless Peace Officers, enforcers of a justice system that is swift, brutal, and absolute.
As the city looms both beautiful and terrifying, its glittering heights mask the inescapable misery below. This is a world where progress and punishment go hand in hand.
This is The Box.
