Director Statement

Botched is a satirical reflection of our obsession with beauty and looking younger. There’s currently a lot of pressure to achieve this unobtainable level of perfection, which in turn shapes how we see ourselves and how we’re seen by others. In creating this film, I aimed to tell a story that wasn’t just about someone’s decision to get plastic surgery, but the emotional transformation that accompanies it and how that decision impacts the people around them. This story invites people to question the lengths to which we’ll go to defy aging and what these choices reveal about our insecurities, our self-worth, and what it means to be beautiful.
